More Details about Art on the Lawn in Yellow Springs

The Village Artisans 32nd annual fine arts and crafts festival, Art on the Lawn in Yellow Springs.

“Art on the Lawn” the popular outdoor festival of art, food, and music is in its thirty-second year! This year, approximately 100 artists will gather under the shade trees in the heart of Yellow Springs, to show and sell their wares.

Both new and returning artists will display a variety of jewelry, papercraft, paintings, drawings, photography, caricatures, candles, garden and yard art, ceramics, glass, pressed flowers, fiber art, leather accessories, scarves, and more. Food vendors and music complement the outstanding artwork.

Bob Pozarski is the featured artist at this year’s event. An architectural glass artist since 1976, he won Best of Show at last year’s “Art on the Lawn.”

Bob attended the Steinert Glass School in Kent, Ohio, for six years, and he completed intensive workshops at the Pittsburgh Glass Center. He now teaches classes at the Peninsula Art Academy in Peninsula, Ohio, and he has won numerous awards for his art glass.

Pozarski makes windows that are works of contemporary art, incorporating rounded pieces of blown glass, prisms, pressed-glass tiles and fused glass, made by melting two or more types of glass together in a kiln. Besides windows, he displays blown vases, ornaments and lamps, leaded boxes, fused vessels, prisms and paperweights.

Currently, he displays leaded art glass windows at Canal Fulton Glassworks and the Peninsula Art Academy.

“Village Artisans” is not only the name of the cooperative, but is also the name of their gallery/shop, located at 100 Corry Street in Yellow Springs, which houses the varied artwork of eighteen local member-artists.
