Honey Apple Fest

Following last year’s inaugural event, Smokin’ Bee-Bee-Q is returning to Monnin’s Farm to co-host the Honey Apple Fest on Saturday, September 3.

“All of our bees are the real workers for Smokin’ Bee-Bee-Q,”Jeff Stringer, Smokin Beebeeq Owner said. “We use our own honey for the barbecue from the truck. The Honey Apple Fest is a great chance to share our love for beekeeping with people of all ages.”

From 10am-6pm that day, Smokin Bee-Bee-Q will be providing a spread of delicious barbecue, the Flying Santucci Bros. will have gourmet cotton candy, and other fall treats like apple butter & biscuits, roasted corn on the cob and more will be available. Okra Love will be playing live music and there will be a balloon artist for the kids.

“Working with Monnin’s Farm is always incredible. They have so much fresh produce, apples and apple products, and amish baked goods for sale.” Stringer said. “This is a perfect event to bring the whole family too”

In addition to the food and festivities, the operators of Smokin’ Bee-Bee-Q will be demonstrating beekeeping as well as how to safely extract honey from the hives.

“Bees are so crucial to so many aspects of our environment,” Stringer said. “It’s important that we take care of them for the future. Honey is just the delicious reward for that work.”

For those interested in attending the second annual Honey Apple Fest, the event takes place at Monnin’s Farm onSaturday, September 3 from 10am-6pm.
