The "Lights in Flight" Festival, an annual Independence Day tradition in downtown Dayton has been canceled for 2023 due to safety concerns and low police staffing.

The fireworks display will still go ahead on July 3 at 10pm, but the popular street festival at Riverscape, which normally begins earlier in the day and includes food, beverages and live entertainment will not be held in 2023.
