Dayton Dragons’ Day Air Ballpark Named Best in the Nation

The Dayton Dragons’ home field, Day Air Ballpark, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Newsweek Fans’ Choice Award for Best Single-A Ballpark in the United States. This honor comes on the heels of the Dragons also being named "Best Attraction" and "Best Family Fun Destination" by the Dayton Daily News, solidifying the team’s reputation as a local gem and a national standout.

It’s no surprise that the stadium is receiving such high praise. From the moment fans walk through the gates, they’re immersed in an atmosphere designed for fun. Every one of the 6,300 theater-style seats offers an incredible view of the action, and even the overflow lawn seating areas provide a great space for groups and families to enjoy the game.

Team President Robert Murphy expressed his gratitude to the community, saying, “We really have to tip our caps to our corporate partners, season ticket holders, group leaders, and the entire community for helping us keep this building sold out for the past 25 seasons. It is truly remarkable what has been built here in downtown Dayton.”

The fan experience goes far beyond the field. Day Air Ballpark is a hub of entertainment, boasting three energetic mascots and a “Green Team” that leads over 300 different skits and games between innings. For the younger fans, a dedicated Fun Zone with carnival games and inflatables awaits behind the outfield wall. The stadium also offers an impressive array of food options, from local favorites like Mar-Chele Pretzels and Donatos Pizza to nationally recognized brands.

A significant investment in the ballpark has kept it modern and fresh. Over the past 25 seasons, ownership has poured more than $20 million into capital improvements, including a new state-of-the-art playing field, updated lighting and sound systems, and new LED signage.

The Dragons' commitment to an outstanding fan experience has translated into remarkable attendance numbers. The team leads all 60 Single-A teams in attendance this season and has held that top spot for all 24 seasons of its existence. Currently, the team also ranks second among all 120 Minor League Baseball teams in attendance average.
