Centerville Partners With Hope 4 Centerville to Fill Toters For Tots
The City will place clean trash toters at the Centerville Municipal Building and the Centerville Police Department beginning November 5. Residents are invited to donate baby diapers, kids’ socks, kids’ underwear and kids’ pull-ups by dropping the items in the toters. Items must be new and unopened. No other items can be accepted.
DROP-OFF LOCATIONS:
• Centerville Municipal Building, 100 W. Spring Valley Rd., 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday)
• Centerville Police Department, 155 W. Spring Valley Rd., 24 hours a day
The collected items will be donated to the Hope 4 Christmas Store, which is open for three weeks during the holiday season to provide items to families who need support. Families must fill out an application and meet specific eligibility requirements to be able to shop at the store.
The Hope 4 Christmas Store is a collaboration of churches and non-profits in Centerville who want to uplift and share hope during Christmas with those in our community who are struggling.
Families are referred to the Hope 4 Christmas Store through case workers, schools, area churches, assistance programs like Hannah’s Treasure Chest and local public school systems, including Dayton and Centerville.
Each child shopping at the store receives three gifts along with socks and underwear.
The Hope 4 Christmas Store serves approximately 1,000 children each year. This initiative is supported by several hundred volunteers from local churches. In addition to the gifts, community resources are available.
