We are now on the City Of Moraine's History Self Driving tour. Please visit us and check out our 3 new signs. They are for the Wright Bros Seaplane Base, Hammel Family Farm (Crume Brick) and our sign about the Airpark. please scan the QR code on each sign to learn more.
We are connected to East Dayton Airport, South Dayton Airport and Neff Field.
Gerald Chatterton whom started South Dayton Airport in 1941( Stroop rd and Lamme rd), had his Air City Flying Services based at East Dayton airport till it closed in the late 30's and moved it to South Dayton Airport. South Dayton Airport ( 1941-1954) was the original home for Moraine Airpark from 1941-1954 the Dayton Air Taxi Services, Air City Flying Services and the Miami Valley Flying Services were based there. When this airport closed and was moved to its current location it was still called South Dayton airport. Finally, Neff Field which was ran and owned by Berlin Neff ( Moraine Ohio currently Wax Park ) it had a small pond, north/ south and east west grass runways and few hangars.
We are currently working on archiving our history to make public in the near future.
