The 51st Ohio Sauerkraut Festival has been canceled due to COVID-19

The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival committee has announced that the 51st annual event in Waynesville, scheduled for October 10-11 has been canceled.

The announcement posted this morning reads as follows:

"The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival is cancelled for 2020 due to health concerns for the Coronavirus Pandemic.  The health concerns for the public were of top priority and it has become difficult to produce a safe and successful show for the community, guests, merchants, vendors, and non-profit food groups.

We understand that this will stir many emotions, and we want all of our participants to understand this decision was truly one made with heavy hearts, but with the best intentions in mind for all involved.

The organizing committee will be focusing our efforts on the 2021 Ohio Sauerkraut Festival on October 9th and 10th, 2021.  These are challenged times for all of us, but with the support of our community, guests, merchants, and partners, we are confident in our strong comeback in 2021."
