Sneak Peek tickets are a great value and the chance to sample items in advance makes deciding where to go during restaurant week easier. My top 6 are below.

Lisa's Top 6 Tastes for Summer Restaurant Week 2019

Lisa's Top 6 Tastes from the Summer Sneak Peek

The Miami Valley Restaurant Association hosted the popular Sneak Peek to Summer Restaurant Week July 17th at the Steam Plant in Downtown Dayton. The popular preview event offered tastes from thirteen of more than forty participating restaurants. It’s a perfect opportunity to taste a variety of foods as the restaurants vie to earn your restaurant week business.

The MVRA puts on two restaurant weeks each year; summer in July and winter in January. Participating restaurants offer multiple courses for one price allowing area diners the opportunity to broaden our horizons at discounted rates. You know you've been talking about wanting to go someplace new. Get out of that rut, away from the same old same old and try something different this week, maybe one of these...

Summer Restaurant Week 2019Here are my top 6:

Carillon Brewing Co.: Braised Short Ribs with Homemade Spaetzle
Chef Jose and his team prepared tender, delicious short ribs and added firmness to their homemade spaetzle by sautéing it in butter.

elé Cake Co. Bistro & Wine Bar - Esquites, Hot Corn off the Cob in a Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing with Cojita Cheese and Sweet and Smokey Seasoning. Offered as a first course during restaurant week, this is a delightful dish.

Salar Restaurant and Lounge: Shoyu and Cilantro Marinated Grilled Chicken Skewers, Green Onion, and Aji Amarillo Salsa, over Corn and Jasmine Rice. Summer is for grilling and Chef Margot and her team spice it right.

Figlio: Chicken Marsala in a Mushroom Cream Sauce with Sautéed Chicken, Sundried Tomatoes, and Scallions. Can you say comfort food? This dish is delicious.

Dewberry 1850: Peppered Steak Lettuce Wrap with fresh Green Bean Kraut. Chef Skiber has a knack for unique pairings. The green bean kraut is pleasantly mild.

Watermark: Jaime’s Cinnamon-Sugar Churro Pastry with Cream Cheese filling. Chef Maria’s team has created a delectable light dessert.
