New local food truck ‘Rolling Indulgence' survived 6 episodes on The Food Network's hit show 'The Great Food Truck Race'. Now they are set to debut this Saturday at BaconFest!

The "Rolling Indulgence" food truck team, operated by three Carvers Steaks & Chops employees will make its debut at Bacon Fest this Saturday, August 17.  The team behind the truck made the final three of the Food Network series "The Great Food Truck Race" earlier this summer.

Rolling Indulgence Food TruckIn case you missed it, Carvers head chef Drew Ballard, his fiancée, Jess Sarra, and head bartender and longtime friend, Travis Day, had been competing on season 10 of the show for a chance to win $50,000.  And, if are wondering why you might not have heard of the truck before now, the team created the food truck specifically to compete on the show. (Props to the bosses at Carvers, who gave the trio leave to go on the show, as well as their team members left behind at the restaurant who reportedly stepped up while they were gone!)

The show kicked off in Myrtle Beach on June 9th and hit Hilton Head, Daytona Beach, Tampa, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, culminating in a Key West finale on July 28.  Rolling Indulgence was eliminated after six shows on July 21.

Ballard said he and his teammates were, "...proud and humbled to represent Dayton on a national stage, especially since our local culinary and brewery scene is so awesome right now."

Hooked by the experience, Team Rolling Indulgence will debut this Saturday at Bacon Fest, starting 3pm.  If you want to congratulate them, be sure to stop by their station (unfortunately the actual truck is in the shop getting a facelift/makeover). The team will be serving buttered BLT sandwiches with bacon dressing and maple bacon brownies... yum!!
