When you love the city you live in, buying local feels great because you're essentially strengthening the community. Olive, an Urban Dive feels the same way and has been offering fresh, locally sourced food since July 2011 when it opened inside of the Wympee building on Third Street downtown. The creative, flavorful dishes that come from their kitchen incorporate produce grown right here in Dayton along with meat, eggs, and ice cream from elsewhere in Ohio.

Brunch at Olive is amazing. Whether you prefer savory or sweet options, they have you covered. I've had the French Toast Croissants, the Tofu Scramble, and many other items and nothing has ever disappointed me in the slightest. They have always been happy to modify their menu items to suit my diet, so don't be nervous about letting them know your restrictions.

Olive - Downtown DaytonLunch and dinner at Olive is always exciting because the menu items change based on the season. They also come up with some great specials throughout the week and post them to facebook so it's a good idea to get connected with Olive either on facebook or Twitter to see a preview of the specials before you get there.

Seating at Olive is limited so it's always recommended to make a reservation. Making a reservation has its benefits: If you reserve your table for 5:00pm or 9:00pm, and mention the discount over the phone, you'll receive 10% off your meal. If you don't make a reservation, they do their best to accommodate you as soon as possible. In fact, their customer service is excellent – the staff at Olive know the menu backward and forward, can offer recommendations, and they work hard to make sure you have what you need at all times.

Even the dessert at Olive is local and noteworthy. I love that you can order wedding cake without being compelled to get dressed up or dance the Electric Slide. The ice cream flavors from Jeni's will blow your mind. No ingredient is off limits for Jeni's and many of the flavors offered on Olive's dessert board compliment their meals better than you just your average vanilla (peanut cayenne, pistachio and honey, very dark chocolate, etc.).

They also offer many special desserts through the week – we were lucky to have some delicious German Chocolate Cake on my most recent visit.

If you're looking for fresh, local food you should make a reservation at Olive, an Urban Dive!
