I think you choose Coco's Bisto because they make food so good your lips curl into a smile and make you look into the eyes of whomever you're eating with and say, ''You NEED to try this. It's so good.''

I think you choose Coco's Bisto because they make food so good your lips curl into a smile and make you look into the eyes of whomever you're eating with and say, "You NEED to try this. It's so good."

Of course, let's be honest, when food is that good why would you want to share? I've only been to Coco's Bistro two or three times, but each time I've been pleasantly surprised - and reluctant to share.

Coco's is just like they say on their website: it's warm and romantic. They moved to 250 Warren Street last November, which offers a larger dining area, a bar and an outdoor patio. Their contemporary bar style is inviting and you can't go wrong with any of their unique cocktail options.

When my family went last week to celebrate my Dad's birthday, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio that had just sold out. The server was kind enough to offer us the higher end Pinot at the cost of the one we wanted. We were immediately pleased at this kind gesture.

It only got better. When I made my reservation for Coco's on Open Table, I mentioned we would be celebrating my Dad's birthday. We were all excited when they brought us out complimentary champagne to help celebrate.

From there we got the Baked Brie appetizer. This is my "must get" every time I go to Coco's. You can't go wrong with this order if you love cheese. The cheese is panko breaded and has tomato bruschetta, pesto, balsamic reduction and garlic crostini on top of it. The crackers that accompany it add the perfect crisp bite.

The menu is simple and offers variety without overwhelming you like a Cheesecake Factory would. The menu is also seasonal, which keeps me coming back. I ordered the Cherry Barbeque Duck Breast that was served with fried spinach and jalapeno cornbread. I couldn't eat too much of the cornbread because it was indeed spicy, but I liked it all. I took bites of my Dad's Ahi Tuna which was delicious with the honey sriracha, my brother ordered the Shrimp Scampi Raviolis which you know is going to be good when it has six cheeses stuffed inside. Finally, my mother had the cod fish special.

We liked them all and since it was a special occasion, we looked past the higher prices. However, if you want to experience Coco's at a more reasonable cost, I would highly suggest visiting during their lunch hours. Their grilled cheese and tomato soup is to die for and you can't go wrong with their bistro burger with creamy Boursin cheese topped with bacon.

Coco's is certainly a Dayton gem since it first opened its doors in the Oregon District in 1997. It has adjusted its menu and locations multiple times, but there is something classic about this restaurant that keeps its patrons returning over and over again.
