Hospice of Dayton Needs Our Votes

Pink Glove Dance The CompetitionWhen Mark McNeal contacted me in August to tell me that Hospice of Dayton was entering Medline’s Pink Glove Dance Video Competition and invite me to the video shoots, I jumped at the chance. Mark loves working for Hospice of Dayton, and is a passionate photographer, so it made sense that they’d ask him to film the project. He introduced me to several other members of the Hospice team, among them Tara Taylor the coordinator and choreographer for the project. Tara also loves working for Hospice, and has a passion for dance. She particularly likes instructing children because dance moves people and boosts confidence.

I can’t say enough about the Hospice of Dayton team, volunteers, and survivors and their willingness to do whatever was asked to increase their chance of winning. When I heard Bob Tangeman say "Anything for Hospice”, I knew he meant it! One of the highlights of the shoot in my memory was watching Bob try to get sequined pink rubber gloves over his enormous hands and performing every move he was asked to. Cancer is serious business, but there were plenty of laughs. You wouldn’t believe how many hours of video they took, only to have to edit it all down to a mere 90 seconds.

Please join us in viewing and voting for Hospice of Dayton’s Pink Glove Dance Video Competition video entry today (October 25th) and every day through November 8th.
