Eclipse Party at the Sunoco on Wayne -what you need to know

An Eclipse Party planned for the Sunoco on Wayne - but is it real or fake news? Here are the facts, alternative and otherwise.

Is there an Eclipse Party at the Sunoco on Wayne?

Word on Wayne is the folks behind the legendary Sunoco gas station concert series are promising another night of gas station revelry for the upcoming Solar Eclipse, including a completely unconfirmed appearance by Limp Bizkit.

The event, listed on Facebook reads in part:

"Time to start planning for the next total solar eclipse. Come join us at the Sunoco on Wayne for the the big eclipse party! Live music, food, alcohol! Limp Bizkit will return to headline a second show at this venue (unconfirmed)!"

For those unfamiliar with the saga, in 2017 Brian Baker promised a bash at the iconic Wayne Avenue Sunoco and posted it on Facebook (spoiler alert: it never happened).  Baker cooked up the fake concert and posted the event titled "Limp Bizkit Comes to the Sunoco on Wayne" claiming it would take place on 4/20/2017.

Now, we're being promised a double dose of Limp Bizkit, alongside ICP, NKOTB, and Great White on 4/8/2024.

While the party itself is undoubtedly a work of comedic fiction, our duty is to fully inform Daytontians and trust them to decide for themselves, especially since if true (unlikely) this event could literally eclipse all previous gigs at the otherwise unassuming gas station.

But if you're looking for a good chuckle and a trip down memory lane, the Sunoco Eclipse Party offers a reminder that sometimes, the funniest events are the ones that never actually happen.

If you do decide to attend, remember:

  • DO bring your own eclipse glasses (and maybe some common sense)
  • DON'T expect to see Limp Bizkit (or any other musicians, for that matter)

And if you discover the party isn't actually going to happen, don't let it darken your day:  Click here for Solar Eclipse events around Dayton.

Disclaimer: This is a satirical article based on a fictional event. No actual party is planned at the Sunoco on Wayne Avenue. Please don't show up.
