Carnival of The Animals & Peter and The Wolf
Camille Saint-Saëns “Carnival of the Animals” brings donkeys, elephants, fossils and kangaroos to life along with other animals including two of the wildest creatures we know of - pianists! Then meet the characters of “Peter and the Wolf.” Join Peter and his grandfather, the hunters, cat, bird, and duck as Peter devises a plan to catch the villainous wolf and assemble a magnificent procession to take him to the zoo. This classic tale is set to music and narration by Sergei Prokofiev with the instruments of the orchestra representing each character.
Dress up as your favorite animal, wear your favorite animal shirt or hat, and be sure to visit the “Instrument Petting Zoo” immediately following the show. Everyone will have a chance to get up close and personal with the instruments you just heard. For extra fun, kids can search for the hidden conductor’s baton, complete a sticker card at the instrument stations, and get a yummy treat. Parents can learn more about the MVSO Youth String program and even sign up for the January semester including a beginner strings class.
Visit mvso.org for ticket information. All seats are reserved. Admission is Free. CALL 937-530-0515 for Handicap and ACCESSIBLE Seating
