The Boonshoft Museum Presents Eureka! Playing the Odds

From modern games of chance to ancient superstitions, people have always been fascinated by the good fortune that seems to befall a lucky few! Spend an evening with us on Saturday, March 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Playing the Odds at this annual winter fundraiser.

Eureka! Playing the Odds promises an engaging evening of scientific experiments, popular adult beverages and enlightenment, centered around one of the most exciting pastimes in human history; games of chance. This special night brings together signature cocktail, craft beer, and wine with familiar games with a grown-up twist to encourage supporters of the Museum to explore the joy of winning and the agony of defeat.

Eureka! is one of the most unique and entertaining evenings of the year. Every winter we explore a different theme related to our mission and collection. As this is also an adult evening, it is an excellent opportunity for attendees to enjoy science while enjoying a cocktail or a craft beer,” said Erika Asher, Manager of Donor Relations for the Dayton Society of Natural History. “The evening is also special because it supports a very worthy cause, which makes it all the more enjoyable.”

Featuring a dance floor, small plates, a welcome drink, and craft beer and wine, this one-of-a-kind evening will expand your knowledge of science while you mix and mingle at one of Dayton’s most entertaining cocktail parties. 21+

Enjoy the challenge of exciting classic games like Fishbowl in Explorer’s Crossing, Ring Toss in Science Central, and a full-scale Rock, Paper, and Scissors Tournament held in the Planetarium. Place your bets on your favorites in the Ferret Races on a specially-designed race course featuring the “fursonas” (personas) of our own beloved Pop and Streudel in the Education Lobby! Test your card-counting and Checkers skills in the Western-themed Card Parlor in Science On a Sphere®.

Tickets are 1 for $20 or 3 for $50, and are currently available online, in person at the Museum during regular hours, and at the event. The drawing will be held at end of the evening on March 16.
