New rooftop restaurant to open in downtown Dayton

Coming soon to downtown Dayton, The Foundry is an American rooftop restaurant and bar, serving chef-driven, gastropub cuisine from a wood fire oven. Perched atop the newly opened AC Hotel Dayton, The Foundry overlooks Day Air Ballpark with some of the most expansive views and coveted seats in the city for both locals and hotel guests to enjoy.

The Foundry joins the Dayton community amidst a time of revitalization, contributing to the transformation of the downtown area. Sporting a “fine enough” mentality, The Foundry is the kind of place where diners can come as they are and dine as they like. It will be the comfortable, go-to spot to impress guests or gather for a night out with family and friends.

The dancing flame from the wood oven takes center stage at The Foundry where everything emanates from the oven. From pizzas and burgers to small plates and starters, the restaurant will feature a wide variety of approachably elevated wood oven dishes and seasonal cuisines touched by fire. While there will be a large selection of pizzas on the menu, The Foundry will be more than Dayton’s best pizza place.

Meanwhile, the bar program will feature an extensive cocktail selection with a focus on great bourbons and premium liquors from Asia, Europe and South America. The goal of the cocktail program is to create harmony in a glass with flavors for everyone. Baseball-shaped ice cubes, edible glitter, and other fun garnishes lighten the mood for an Instagram-worthy night out. For serious cocktail connoisseurs, carefully crafted options feature forward-thinking spirits and unique preparations. The beer and spirits list will offer a careful curation of high-quality local brews and an exciting assortment of European selections that match the inspiration of the hotel’s European design.

As a sneak peek to the beverage menu, every artful cocktail will tell a tale. The drink “Living in the Clouds” reflects the joy of travel with global inspirations, like Japanese Ozeki sake from Japan, St.Germain elderflower liqueur from France, mandarin juice from China, and jasmine tea from India. As a playful riff, the cocktail is topped with cotton candy that references the ballpark nearby and the clouds above this rooftop destination.

Not only will the dishes and drinks offer diners some eye-candy, but The Foundry’s dazzling design and rooftop views are also worth noting. The city’s industrial past comes alive in a lofted setting with exposed ceilings, copper finishes, custom millwork, and stained concrete floors that are softened by modern furnishings that prioritize come-as-you-are comfort. Whether you sit indoors or out, there is something to be seen. Firepits and glass railings pull the eye to the terrace, but modern decor keeps you coming back for more inside. Not only is the space easy on the eyes, but also the ears – The Foundry will offer live entertainment during the week and weekends, showcasing some of the region’s best live music and DJ talent.

The signature restaurant will be open for dinner service. Follow along on social media @thefoundryrooftop Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on the latest opening news and menu items.
