COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in Ohio opens up to all those 40+ starting Friday, and all adults 16+ March 29

All adults in Ohio eligible to get COVID-19 vaccine March 29

Ohio is expanding eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccines to all adults by March 29

Gov. Mike DeWine announced Tuesday morning that COVID-19 vaccine phases 1E, 2C and 2D will be coming up shortly.

The following patients will become eligible on their respective dates:

  • Phase 1E — March 19: Cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease and obesity
  • Phase 2C — March 19: All adults ages 40+
  • Phase 2D — March 29: All adults ages 16+

Currently, Ohioans age 50 and older can get a vaccine, and also those with Type 2 diabetes and end-stage renal disease.

The Ohio Department of Health has launched a state portal to find vaccination locations and to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments. As of Monday, a total of 2,390,412 people had started vaccination in Ohio.
