Sew to Grow ~ Bondi Top
Sew to Grow's Bondi Top really is a perfect beginner top for a new garment sewist. The sizing is easy to understand and alter if needed. This top has a total of three pattern pieces and bias binding. You also get to learn how to do a simple pleat on the garment. This top will help you build confidence in your sewing and you will also learn my tricks for installing bias tape! And once you see how easy it is to sew with, you will be sewing it on everything! Be ready to have a fun day of stitching up your very own Bondi Top by Sew to Grow!
Prerequisites:
Sewing Basics (or equal skill - can thread machine, fill bobbin, use seam allowance)
Demystifying Patterns (not a prerequisite but would be helpful!)
What you will learn:
Grainline of Fabric
Pattern sizing and placement
Cutting
Seam Allowance
Pinning
Finishing the raw edges
Hemming
Working with Bias Tape (tips and tricks)
Ages: 14 + (adults are welcome & encouraged!)

Sewing Machine if you need oneBasic Sewing supplies needed, all supplies will stay at the studio after the class.
What you need to bring:
- 1.5 Yards - Main Fabric - PREWASHED
- .25 yards Contrast Fabric - PREWASHED
- Suitable Materials: - Voile, Rayon, Medium Weight Quilting Cotton, and medium weight knit (95%cotton/5%spandex) Girl Charlee has a great selection!
- Coordinating Thread
- Sewing Needle that is applicable to fabric weight and type
- Sewing Kit (if you want to bring one - supplies will be on hand - scissor

, marking tools)
- 1 package (3 yds) 1 1/2” Single Fold Bias Binding

Please bring snacks for yourself to eat throughout the class.
Please, no snacks with any type of nut as a precaution for all students.
This is a small group workshop to make sure the quality of the class is top-notch!
Parking on Grange Hall; Park in Decoy/Knickerbocker Lot Follow either sidewalk on the side of building to the studio door that faces Dayton-Xenia.
