African Drum & Dance Workshop

Free, live concerts for kids and teens this summer at the Dayton Metro Library

Join Tony West & the Imani Dancers, an ensemble of dancers, musicians, and actors who blend their contemporary experiences with the influences of African heritage.  Participants will gain a hands-on understanding of the history and culture behind dance and music traditions from around the world, through West African drumming and dance, to South and East African music, to Latin American rhythms and dances from the United States.  For grades 7-12

“Libraries Rock” is more than just the slogan for the Dayton Metro Library’s Summer Challenge reading program – it also describes the Main Library during a series of free, live concerts for kids and teens this summer.
