Crawford Hoying and Woodard Development recently announced that pre-leasing has begun on 133 units at Delco Lofts. The structure will include floor-to-ceiling windows, a top floor event space that pays tribute to Charles Kettering’s former office, and private lower level garage space. An artist rendering of the $25 million revitalization illustrates one of a kind views of Fifth Third Field in addition to Riverscape MetroPark, and the heart of the city. The developers expect to complete the project next summer.

Delco Lofts first commercial tenant, Lock 27 Brewing will overlook the public plaza at the main entrance of Fifth Third Field, home of the Dayton Dragons. Founder and brew master Steve Barnhart plans an extensive heavy volume brew house in the basement of the former Delco Factory. The increased capacity will allow Lock 27 to distribute select brews to other Dayton establishments. Barnhart plans to continue brewing small batch beers in Centerville to be served exclusively in Lock 27's two locations.

“We are excited to become a part of the burgeoning downtown Dayton community. We believe that having several options including Lock 27, Basil’s on Market, the recently announced 5th Street Deli relocation (into the space that once housed Canal Street Tavern), along with existing neighborhood establishments will enhance business for all of us.” says Barnhart. A late spring or early summer opening is scheduled to coincide with the Dragon’s baseball season.
