From flashy musicals to in-depth looks into the wilderness and classic children’s stories brought to life, there is something for everyone.

The 2016-17 Broadway Series will kick-off with the return of the Jersey Boys. The true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons wowed audiences in 2012 at the Schuster and is coming back for an encore. The groups hit songs such as ‘Sherry,’ ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry,’ and ‘Oh What A Night’ pale in comparison to the stories behind them, which are presented in the musical. The Jersey Boys is scheduled for October 18 – 23, 2016.

Fans of tap and all types of dance, will want to grab a partner and go see 42nd Street. A backstage musical comedy, 42nd Street is a song and dance fable of Broadway with an American Dream story and some beloved songs within it such as ‘We’re in the Money,’ ‘Dames,’ and ‘I Only Have Eyes For You.’ 42nd Street tells the story of a starry-eyed young dancer who comes to New York to audition for a Broadway musical. When the leading lady breaks her ankle, she must take over and becomes a star. 42nd Street takes to the stage January 10 -15, 2017.

Dirty DancingOne of the most romantic movies of the 80’s, is now off the screen and before our very eyes, as Dirty Dancing will saunter into town. Heart pounding music, passionate romance and sexy dancing is sure to give audiences the time of their life. . The classic story is of two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives. Dirty Dancing heats up the stage March 14 – 19, 2017.

MOTOWN The Musical is the true story of Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and many more legendary artists. Motown shattered barriers, shaped our lives and made us all move to the same beat. MOTOWN The Musical will run April 11 – 16, 2017.

Kinky BootsThe winner of six Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Choreography, Kinky Boots is a huge-hearted, high-heeled hit. From a gentleman’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan, Kinky Boots with songs by Cyndi Lauper shows that the world can be changed when you change your mind. Kinky Boots steps into action May 23-28, 2017.

The season will conclude with a brand new show, that is currently still in pre-production and will rival the greatest show on earth in entertainment value. It is Circus 1903, created by the producers of The Illusionists and the puppeteers of Warhorse. The show will feature the most amazing, dangerous, and unique acts from all four corners of the globe, accompanied by the largest ever performing African elephant. After appearing all across the world, Dayton will be one of the first U.S cities to host Circus 1903, on June 13-18, 2017.

As part of the Star Attractions, the modern day Christmas classic comes to the stage in Elf The Musical. The hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly is transported to the North Pole. Unaware that he is human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. He travels to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity and help New Yor remember the true spirit of Christmas. Elf The Musical will bring joy to families the week of Thanksgiving, November 22-27, 2016.

Riverdance will be in Dayton for their 20th Anniversary World Tour! Drawing on Irish traditions, the combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music into the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures in an innovative and exciting blend of dance, music and song. This extraordinary show will be at The Schuster for one night only on March 28, 2017.

Dubbed by The Washington Post as “DC’s most energetic and eclectic band” SCYTHIAN (sith-ee-yin) belts out a high-energy, adrenaline-peddling, interactive brand of music with one goal in mind: to get people on their feet and dancing.  Of course, if you're a fan of Dayton Celtic Festival, you've likely already got tickets for this concert on February 18, 2017. 

The National Geographic Live, speaker series will feauture Hilaree O’Neil, Mountaineer, ‘Down to Nothing,’ on January 31, 2017 at Victoria Theatre.

Steve Winter, Wildlife Photojournalist, ‘On the Trail of Big Cats’ on March 6, 2017 at Victoria Theatre.

And Pete McBride, filmmaker/photographer, ‘Chasing Rivers’ on April 24, 2017 at Victoria Theatre.

The Family Series at Victoria Theatre will feature, Mutts Gone Nuts a collection of incredible high-flying Frisbee dogs, tight-wire dogs, dancing dogs, magic dogs, and the one and only Sammie the Talking Dog on October 29, 2016.

On January 21, 2017 will be A Year with Frog & Toad, and on February 25, 2017 is Pinkalicious The Musical. Then on April 8 & 9, 2017 is The Cat in the Hat and on April 22, 2017 is Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.
