“Why Dayton Kids Will Be A Little Warmer This Winter”

THE TART WITH HEART: ST. ANNE THE TART’S 501C3 HOSTS HOLIDAY COAT DRIVE-IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BOGG MINISTRIES.

This December, St. Anne the Tart is collecting kids coats of all sizes to be distributed by Bogg Ministries to children in low-income apartment complexes in the Dayton area. Along with collecting coats, St. Anne the Tart will use its popular ‘round-up’ program to raise additional funds that will be used to purchase winter coats for children in these areas.

Owner Megan Smith has a personal connection to providing winter coats to children as her own mother, who died by suicide this year, received winter coats from charitable organizations during her years in a children’s home in Columbus, Ohio in the 1950s. “My mom raised me with a deep understanding that many kids in both unstable and seemingly stable environments, truly have no access to coats and blankets during the winter months. A chance to do our part in downtown Dayton for kids just down the street from us is the best way I can honor her memory.”

Collections and donations will be accepted at St. Anne the Tart at 1500 E 5th St, Monday – Saturday: 7 am – 3 pm from December 1st through 21st.
