Start 2018 with Purpose on New Year's Eve

Families of Addicts (FOA) is on a mission to educate, empower and embrace families, friends and individuals struggling with addiction by providing support and promoting recovery. Realizing that New Year’s celebrations tend to be fueled by alcohol and partying, FOA has teamed up with a group of community members to create a New Year’s event centered around purpose in support of their mission.

FOA Spark into 2018 is a FREE non-traditional New Year’s Eve with activities. Children are welcome. The event will be held Sunday December 31st 7:00pm-12:15am at City Church 141 W 5th St, Dayton, OH 45402. The organizers ask that you register at bit.ly/2AztrRs so that they can be sure to have enough refreshments and supplies for everyone. Ticket not required to enter event.

“This event is a great way to experience New Year resolutions by ending 2017 and starting 2018 with no gap. My mission has been about filling the gaps and having things align for folks,” said Lori Erion, founder and executive director of FOA. “This is a perfect example of that. Why wait to find your purpose for 2018? Start the process with us on NYE!”

It’s no secret that addiction is a serious issue in the Dayton area. Whether a family member, friend, or colleague most of us know one or more people that struggle with addiction. Community members helping plan the event hope to connect with the community at large.

“The addiction crisis has been a catalyst for us all coming together,” said Lauren White, social entrepreneur. “This event is for everyone and I believe we could all learn something choosing a healthier alternative to the typical New Year’s Eve plan.”

Optional Activities Include:
7:00 PM Beginners Yoga
8:00-9:30 PM Purpose Spark
9:30-11:00 PM Song Circle / Open mic
11:15 PM-12:15 AM Social hour with DJ set and dancing.
