Made in Dayton: Mikesell's

Mike-sells’s potato chips are a Dayton original and share in the city’s rich history. When D.W. Mikesell’s founded the company in 1910, he delivered his dried beef, sausages and potato chips on a bicycle that was an important part of his business. He had to keep the bicycle in good repair and knew of a good little repair shop at 1127 West Third Street. The two brothers that ran the shop were enterprising young men just like Dan. Their names were Wilbur and Orville Wright and they proved with courage and ingenuity, men could fly.

Mike-Sell’s potato chips "fly” off store shelves and are a staple in my family whenever we have pizza, subs, sandwiches….at any occasion that calls for chips. I just picked up Green Onion (my favorite) and Good’n Hot for a recent pizza party. YUM!

You can find Mike-Sell’s chips in grocery, convenience, and big box stores in addition to many restaurants in the Dayton area. Mike-Sell’s Facebook page is filled with requests from fans to sell the chips in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Idaho and more. For Mike-Sell’s fans outside the local service area, they’ll ship chips all over the U.S. from their online store. Believe me, this is a gift native Daytonians will treasure!
