A Warm Welcome to Miami Valley Spice Traders

Officials from Washington Township, the South Metro Regional Chamber of Commerce, and thrilled customers attended the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Miami Valley Spice Traders Friday February 1st. You can't miss the store, nestled in the Drug Mart plaza at the corner of Yankee and Lyons Road. The bright yellow walls match the owner's sunny dispositions.

Brian and Heather Rayburn opened the specialty grocery last December and correctly describe it as "the equivalent of a culinary candy store". Brian and Heather were involved in a similar venture during their time in Colorado and brought the concept with them when they returned to the Dayton area.

Ribbon Cutting - Miami Valley Spice Traders

Miami Valley Spice Traders offers personalized service and carries a variety of Spices, Certified Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Balsamic Vinegars, Specialty Salts, Teas, Sugars, along with a variety of Vino de Milo's award winning pasta sauces, bruschetta toppings, & dressings and Crumbs tofu pastas (vegan, made with organic ingredients). If you don't find what you're looking for in the store, just let them know and they'll try to get it in for you.

Brian and Heather offer samples of everything in the store so you can see, smell, and taste the quality of their products. I love that they have jars of each of the spices on the shelves with the products. It allows me to smell each spice and imagine them added to my favorite recipes before I buy. I picked up Applewood Smoked Salt (to season steaks & chops), Chipotle Pepper (to add smoky spice to chili), and Smoked Hungarian Paprika (to enhance home-blended taco seasoning) which they bagged to look like a gift.

Miami Valley Spice Traders is open 7 days a week, please stop in and tell 'em Dayton Local sent ya.
