Agape for Youth, Inc. Receives Grant From Payless Shoes
DAYTON - December 6, 2011 - Agape for Youth, Inc. is pleased to announce that they have been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. Agape is among 800 charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United States, across Canada and Puerto Rico and in 10 Latin American countries to be part of the program.Agape is honored to be selected once again to be a part of this incredible cause, said Stephen Geib, Executive Director Agape for Youth, Inc. We are looking forward to sharing this special gift from Payless with the youth in our care during this holiday season.
Agape will be distributing coupons for shoes to children of families being served by Agape in southwest Ohio. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children''s health and development, a striking number of children don''t own a pair of shoes that fit. We are working to remedy that in Ohio.
This is the fourth year of the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program. With unemployment still so high, the success of the program, and the number of children we have been able to help, drive our efforts, says LuAnn Via, CEO of Payless ShoeSource. We want as many children as possible to experience the simple joy of a new pair of shoes. We want them to walk into one of our stores, look up at rows of shoeboxes with big eyes, and point to the pair that makes them smile, LuAnn Via says.

Agape for Youth, Inc., 2010 Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Award winner, provides foster care and adoption services in southwest Ohio. Agape was founded in 1989 in order to place children into foster homes which could guide and support youth in becoming functioning individuals in society. Over the years Agape has expanded its services to include family foster care, providing adoption home studies, preparation of families and children for adoption, and supportive services to adoptive families. Most recently Agape began offering reunification services working with families whose children are making the transition from foster care back to their biological family. The Agape offices are located at 2621 Dryden Road in Dayton, Ohio.
