A Day in Mexico!

The Centerville community invites all to celebrate and learn more about the culture of our southern neighbor as it kicks off National Hispanic Heritage Month. The special event is co-sponsored by the Centerville Library, the Centerville Arts Commission, the Centerville-Washington Diversity Council, Friends of WCPL and the St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community with assistance provided by several groups in our local Mexican community. For all ages.

All sorts of activities are planned for the day including the dance group Orgullo Mexicano featuring Imelda Ayala and others; Ramon Perez, widely known throughout the Dayton Hispanic community for his music and singing; artist Gabriela Pickett will have several of her works displayed; stories by Alicia Pagan, and more!

Besides the five main sponsors, the following groups are also assisting in this event: the WSU Office of Latino Affairs, the WSU Spanish Club, the Dayton Hispanic Chamber, Primerica, LULAC (the League of United Latin American Citizens), and the Missing Peace Art Space.

A Day in Mexico! is taking place at Centerville Library, which is located at 111 W. Spring Valley Rd. in Centerville. Centerville Library - The Washington-Centerville Public Library is the community's connection to diverse opportunities for education, enrichment, and entertainment.
