Celebrate Peace Events - August 28, 2013

A local group of community volunteers has organized a special, first-time event in downtown Dayton that will mark two vital, internationally important events that have to do with world peace: the 100th anniversary of the Peace Palace in the Hague, Netherlands and the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech. The City of Dayton is supporting the celebration of peace and Mayor Gary Leitzell will help recognize the anniversaries.

All events are free, family friendly and open to the public.

An Anniversary for Peace, a public celebration at the steps of the Old Courthouse in Dayton, Ohio.

August 28, 2013, 12 - 1 PM

The celebration will include:

  • A proclamation by: Mayor Gary Leitzell
  • A reading of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech
  • Live music by Seefari Reggae
