Beethoven’s fire in the Coriolan Overture, Bach’s masterful beauty in the Third Orchestral Suite, and Brahm’s tranquility in his Second Symphony, are three big reasons to experience the “3 B’s” of classical music with the MVSO. The well-known transcription Air on a G String comes from Bach’s orchestral suite, and listeners will rediscover many of Brahm’s lyrical themes from his famed violin concerto throughout the second, fondly referred to as his “Pastoral Symphony.”
