Downtown Dayton Sidewalk Sale 2020

The Downtown Dayton Sidewalk Sale returns for outdoor shopping, dining and activities

Downtown Dayton shops and restaurants will offer outdoor dining, drinks, activities and retail on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The Downtown Dayton Partnership (DDP), along with more than 50 downtown small businesses, locally-owned restaurants, and artisan vendors, will once again fill the streets of downtown with a Downtown Dayton Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After a successful Sidewalk Sale in September, this open-air experience will return and take place throughout the streets of downtown Dayton. Along with ample opportunities to patronize downtown businesses, the Sidewalk Sale will include free activities, entertainment and fall-themed treats for visitors.

Retailers will have merchandise for sale displayed in front of their storefronts.

  • Fall-themed free activities and treats, including a pumpkin painting activity with Picture Perfect Paint Parties, cupcakes from Twist Cupcakery, and more.
  • Downtown eateries will offer take-away food and drink specials for guests to enjoy while they stroll, and also invite guests to dine and drink on their patios.
  • Roving entertainers, including acoustic musicians and street magicians, will be out on the streets.
  • Local artisans will be selling items from booths along downtown’s pedestrian thoroughfares.

A map of the Sidewalk Sale, a list of special Sidewalk Sale activities, and a complete list of participating businesses and their offerings during the Sidewalk Sale will be available at in the coming days. Guests can stay up to date on  the Downtown Dayton Sidewalk Sale promotions by clicking “attend” on the sale’s Facebook event here.

“We’re taking advantage of beautiful fall weather to create a destination for families and friends to explore downtown Dayton together and support our local businesses,” said Sandra K. Gudorf, president of the DDP.

Extending storefronts onto sidewalks is also an effort to create more room for guests while they shop, dine and explore downtown Dayton. Guests are reminded that social distancing is in place in downtown Dayton, with masks required upon entry to retailers and restaurants and when six feet of distance between groups cannot be kept.

“Downtown businesses work daily to keep their doors open while keeping guests and staff safe, and with extra room outdoors we hope to create an environment for people to venture out who want to keep more distance around themselves,” Gudorf said.
