Downtown Black Business Challenge

Gem City Black Business Month engages, entertains, and educates Black business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs and connects them with resources to grow their businesses. 

To celebrate, the Downtown Dayton Partnership is issuing the Downtown Black Business Challenge all throughout August. To participate, simply snap a photo of yourself patronizing a Black-owned downtown business, or what you bought during your visit, and text it to 937-668-7227.  

Every Friday, four winners will be selected to win a $25 Downtown Dollars digital gift card. Each picture taken at a unique participating business counts as one entry -- that's more than 30 chances to win! One grand-prize winner will be selected at the end of the month to take home $100 in Downtown Dollars.

The event aims to build awareness of downtown’s Black-owned businesses, to encourage participants to engage with them, and to generate new customers and support for Black business.
