University of Dayton Galleries

Mission Statement

The primary mission of University of Dayton's Galleries is to provide space for the University of Dayton community of artists to experiment, develop, and implement new ideas while gaining educational gallery experience in professional standards and practices; curating, organizing and executing exhibitions with open engagement with the public. The University of Dayton Galleries will support exhibitions that develop from advanced and beginning student coursework to Alumni and Faculty projects, as well as supporting a robust program of visiting artists. The gallery space serves as a site for experiments in performative art, collaborative installation work and interdisciplinary visual research. University of Dayton's Galleries are an active showcase of what is happening in the world of visual art, the Department of Art and Design and our interactions with the community at large.

In Beginners Jenna Maurice and Adán De La Garza present video works made from their personal archive of footage shot when they were in their youth.
