Mother’s Day is also Blanket Sunday here at Hawker Church. Honor your mother or other woman in your life by giving a blanket to Church World Service. Blankets are just $10 each, and you’ll receive a free Mother’s Day card with each donation. Look for the Blanket Sunday table in the Narthex on May 5th or stop by the church office on Weds., May 8th.
Join us for worship on May 19th at 10:30 a.m. for Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost is the birthday of the Christian Church… NOT because it was the first time they believed Jesus is the Christ, but because it was the first time they proclaimed the Good News to others. Celebrate the Church’s birthday and our calling to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20). Be sure to wear something red!
The class of 2024 will be moving their tassels very soon, and we want to honor all the graduates in the Hawker Church family. Please email the church office or drop off a recent photo of your grad and a 2-3 sentence bio, including “what’s next,” no later than May 15th.
Covid Response
Masks and physical distancing are now optional for everyone, per the CDC and the Governor’s order. We continue to have lots of hand sanitizer available for everyone, and a few pews in the back of the sanctuary remain separated if you need a little extra “breathing room.” If you’re not feeling well or are running a fever, please stay home and join us via Facebook or YouTube.
