Panera Bread Campaign Raises Thousands to Help Animals at Humane Society of Greater Dayton

By: The Humane Society of Greater Dayton

Panera Bread and the Humane Society of Greater Dayton came together in January with one goal in mind – to help homeless animals in the Miami Valley!

Throughout the entire month of January, Panera Bread’s largest franchisee, Covelli Enterprises, supported the efforts of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton through the Covelli Cares Change Roll-Up Program in all 13 Panera Bread locations in the Greater Dayton region.

The month-long campaign raised $6,436.32 to benefit the animals at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, a no-kill animal welfare agency run solely on donations.

“We are beyond ecstatic with the impact this campaign has had on the animals at our shelter,” said Brian Weltge, President & CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “We are honored to have a partner such as Panera Bread and Covelli Enterprises, but we are also so grateful for each community member who chose to Round Up for Rover and provide support to our shelter. We always say that every penny counts and this program proves that!”

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency relies solely on donations to run all of its programs and services. 100 percent of the donations from the Covelli Cares Change Roll-Up Program in January were donated to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.

“It’s a privilege to partner with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton,” said Sam Covelli, Owner/CEO of Covelli Enterprises. “By supporting the programs and services they offer, we support the community and the relationships between people and animals, the relationship our customers have with their own pets.”
