Registration now open for Levitt Dayton's FREE Virtual Songwriting Fall Program

After the success of the week-long virtual songwriting camp this past August, the Levitt Pavilion Dayton has partnered again with Art as Mentorship to offer a Fall songwriting program.

The program runs from October 3 to December 1 and includes five inspiring and interactive workshops that get the next generation of songwriters creating original works, collaborating on their ideas, making music videos, and experiencing what it takes to be an artist in the real world.

Using Zoom, Art As Mentorship and Making Movies work with Levitt Dayton to produce five workshop sessions over the fall semester that get students creating their own music and learning the real-world skills it takes to have a career in music, or a career in any field. Students become part of the Levitt Virtual Songwriter community on Discord, where they stay in contact with teachers, receive weekly writing prompts, share their creations, and can receive 24/7 support during the program.

Programs and dates:

Sat October 3 | ameri’kana rhythms

Sat October 17 | the beat lab

Sat November 7 | arcade session

Mon November 30 | evening dress rehearsal

Tue December 1 | student showcase (Live on Levitt Dayton Facebook) with a special guest TBD

“Now more than ever, we need to provide our youth a platform to create and express themselves,” said Lisa Wagner, Executive Director. “We need their voices and we hope this program will serve as amplification.”
