The World A'Fair Dayton International Festival will not return this Spring. A message posted on the festival website reads in part as follows:

"Unfortunately, due to the uncertainties surrounding Covid-19 and its variants plus uncertainties surrounding the Convention Center’s new ownership and management, the festival board has decided to cancel the May 2022 festival and study revamping the festival, pretty much from scratch."

The popular food festival was last held at the Dayton Convention Center in May, 2019, attracting around 25,000 total attendees.  The 2020 and 2021 festivals were also canceled due to the COVID-19 public health crisis.

The Dayton Convention Center, which recently had a $31M improvement plan approved, plans to host several major events this year, including the Color Guard World Championships in April.

Festival organizers say they have formed a new committee to explore options for the future.
