The Square Is Where returns to Courthouse Square
The Downtown Dayton Partnership is excited to welcome back office workers and residents to downtown Dayton’s Courthouse Square for The Square Is Where, featuring free live entertainment every weekday. The Square Is Where will kick off on Monday, May 3, and will run every weekday through the end of September.
“We’re ready to welcome back our downtown Dayton workforce as they return to their offices, and we invite everyone to take advantage of ample outdoor space at The Square is Where to sit with friends and coworkers you haven’t seen in person in quite some time,” said Sandra K. Gudorf, president of The Downtown Dayton Partnership.
The Square Is Where runs 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every weekday on Courthouse Square, located in the heart of downtown Dayton at 23 N. Main Street, with outdoor seating available to enjoy an al fresco lunch hour. Visitors can grab a takeout meal or get a local food delivery dropped off at Courthouse Square, or mobile food vendors are set up with items for sale.
Each week, The Square is Where will program special entertainment and activities for guests.
- Music Mondays - DJ’ed music where you can request your favorite songs.
- Trivia Tuesdays - a fan favorite with weekly live trivia and prizes.
- Big Game Wednesdays - play a game of giant checkers, Connect 4 or cornhole.
- Music Bingo Thursdays - every other week with Liftoff Entertainment.
- Fridays Live - enjoy your lunch hour with a different live band each week
The Square Is Where web page includes an event calendar that updates the live bands and other entertainment that will be at the square each week. The website also features a downtown Dayton lunch map with all of the locations open during lunch hours for meals, drinks and treats.
Throughout the summer, The Square Is Where will also host special events such as cornhole and miniature golf tournaments, art projects, and more. The space in Courthouse Square allows for social distanced dining and seating to provide a safe, outdoor meeting location for lunchtime dining and activities during The Square is Where programming.
