Stay Informed:
It’s important to have certain numbers handy during a storm. Please remember:
  • To report a down tree in the right-of-way, please call 937.333.4800.
  • To report power outages, call AES at 877.468.8243 or email
  • To report problems with water mains in Dayton, call 937.333.4900.
  • Please do not call 911 for information related to snow removal.
Be Responsible:
The Dayton Police Department is asking that residents DO NOT park on the streets wherever possible to allow snowplows to clear paths on roadways and to allow emergency vehicles to get through to medical calls and critical incidents.

Commercial and residential property owners are responsible for maintenance of sidewalks on their properties. This responsibility includes removal of snow, ice and debris. In addition to enhancing safety for anyone using sidewalks, proper maintenance is especially important to the many residents and workers who depend on public transportation.

Communications:
  • Social Media - During extreme winter weather, the City of Dayton Facebook/Twitter/Nextdoor pages will be updated regularly with snow removal updates, and travel/weather alerts, as well as photos of what's happening in the city.
  • Local Media - The City provides updates to the media during and after a snow event on road conditions and other weather-related issues.
