To the Moon and Beyond New Village Artisans Lobby Show
The artists at the Village Artisans invite you on a magical journey as they travel “To The Moon and Beyond” during the new Members Lobby show. The show will be on display in the Lobby Gallery, June 5th through July 15th, 2021 during regular gallery hours. The exhibit is free and open to the public so don’t miss seeing this new exhibition. While there, you can check out all the wonderful work by the 20 Artists and Artisans in the Gallery. Now, here is a sneak peek of one of the artists who will have work presented in this exhibition . . .
“A New Day Yesterday” is a striking quilted piece of Fiber art created by Pam Geisel. It is a wonderful example of both her never ending imagination, as well as her fine quilting work. Geisel explains she was inspired to use the 2021 Pantone Colors of the year, gray and yellow, for her material colors to represent both a day and a night. The land beneath the tree is symbolically curved, just as the earth is, and the sun and the moon balance the landscape as they are placed in opposite corners of the sky. The title of this piece carries deep meaning unto itself is it references to the cyclical nature of the passing of time.
