A Sense of Strength: Incredible Local Ladies from History

Experience approximately 200 years of local history through the eyes of some of the women who shaped our community.

  • Travel through the 1930s and ’40s with Ida Weller, a champion for local farmers.
  • Venture into the 1950s with Pauline Webster Trammel, the first Black graduate of Centerville High School.
  • Explore the expansion of Washington Township through the 1960s and ’70s with Ethel Winterhalter, the first female township trustee.
  • Relive the 1980’s to the millennium with Shirley Heintz, the first female mayor of Centerville.

Immerse yourself in their lives. See the impact they made in our community. Learn the important character traits they shared. Be inspired!
