March Film Series: Wonder Woman
In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, Washington-Centerville Public Library invites the public to bring their daughters (and sons too!) to a series of films on selected Friday nights that celebrate the accomplishments of women. Refreshments will be served and no reservations are necessary. No charge. Parental guidance is suggested for all films.
- March 2 - Hidden Figures, c2016 – A biographical drama about black female mathematicians who worked for NASA in the 1960s, starring Octavia Spencer and Kevin Costner. Rated PG.
- March 9 - Wild, c2014 – Reese Witherspoon stars in the true story of Cheryl Strayed’s 94-day solo hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 1995. Rated R.
- March 16 - Maya Lin: A Strong Clear Vision, c1995 – Winner of the 1995 Academy Award for Best Documentary, the film tells the true story of the Chinese-American 20-year old college student who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Not Rated.
- March 30 - Wonder Woman, c2017 – Diana, princess of the Amazons, leaves her sheltered home to fight a war to end all wars and discovers her true powers and destiny. Starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Rated PG-13.
