Used Library Furniture Sale to Benefit Dayton Metro Library
The Friends of the Dayton Metro Library will host a Used Library Furniture Sale on Saturday, April 14, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 15, 1:00-4:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Dayton Metro Library Operations Center (formerly the Temporary Main Library), 120 S. Patterson Boulevard in downtown Dayton. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library.
Items will be individually priced, garage sale style, or best offer accepted. Featured items include:
- Lots of wooden, wheeled book carts
- Both vintage and newer furniture
- Tables, lounge furniture, office chairs
- Some shelving
“Many of the items are useable in homes, or may be useful to nonprofit organizations seeking office furniture,” said Dave Hicks, Volunteer Services Manager for the Library. “Some of the old wood shelving may be of interest to woodworkers for repurposing.”
There are no card catalogs for sale, and sale volunteers are not able to help with loading items into vehicles.
“We are pricing it to move it. It’s time for these items to find a new use outside of the Library,” said Hicks. “The proceeds go straight to the Friends of the Library, who in turn provide funding for Library programs and services, including the upcoming Summer Challenge.”
The Friends of the Library are continuing to plan a used book sale as well. For more information, visit DaytonMetroLibrary.org/Friends or call (937) 463-2665.
