WHAT: Join us for the 2019 Fort Ancient Lecture Series featuring an all-female line-up of experts in their field. Join Lecture # 3 on Saturday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. We welcome Dr. Kathleen Lynch of the University of Cincinnati for an interesting talk entitled In Vino Veritas:  The Truth about Wine Drinking in Ancient Athens, An Archaeological Perspective.

In ancient Athens (600-300 B.C.), the symposium was a social event at which a small group of men gathered for an evening of wine-drinking at a friend’s house. This illustrated talk will explore the archaeological evidence for the changing role of the symposium in democratic Athens.

Admission to the Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
