Orizuru 2015 film screening, symposium
Meet the film's director, Ms. Miyuki Sohara, the grandson of President Truman, Mr. Clifton Truman Daniel and author Kazuko Minamoto as they speak at this very special symposium and screening of the critically-acclaimed film "Orizuru 2015." You'll also learn to make your own paper crane.
“Orizuru 2015,” is a tale of modern day friendship inspired by the picture book, “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.” Selected at Hiroshima International Film Festival in 2015 as Hiroshima Eye, “Orizuru 2015” was shown for one week at the Laemmle Royal in Los Angeles in a U.S. Premiere starting on May 27, 2016. That was the same day as President Obama's historic visit to Hiroshima City. It has been also screened around the world including at the United Nations in New York and Harvard University. This film has been endorsed by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an educational video and film.
