Opera Ball 2018 Singin' in the Rain
Join the Opera Guild of Dayton for this year’s exciting Opera Ball Singing in the Rain and you”ll be “dancin’ and singin’ “ under the rain –Fractal Rain that is. Opera Ball 2018 will be held on Saturday, April 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the new downtown Dayton Metro Main Library where Fractal Rain hangs in glorious splendor above the beautiful Grand Staircase. Created by Kettering architect and artist Terry Welker, this huge mobile draws the eye and imagination of everyone who enters. Imagine yourself dancing under its beauty and stunning light-play while the Bob Gray Orchestra plays a variety of your favorite dance melodies.
The evening will unfold with a cocktail reception including time for conversation and shopping at the expansive silent auction. A gourmet dinner by Elite Catering will follow. Next the live auction will offer unique choices of luxury items including a smaller scale residential Fractal Rain-like sculpture including installation by Welker. Arthur Murray Dance Studio will perform a special dance number on the Grand Staircase before attendees are invited to dance the night away until 11:30 p.m. Make your reservation now!
