Nature Tidbit Series at Fort Ancient Presents Fort Ancient Wildflowers
Put winter in the rear-view mirror and get ready for the spring ephemerals to make their dramatic appearance at Fort Ancient! Join us on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. for the Nature Tidbit Series featuring Fort Ancient Wildflowers. The event is a presentation led by Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Dave Woehr. Dave will present an overview of the entire spectrum of wildflowers that can be found flourishing throughout the growing season from the end of winter until the first frost of autumn.
“The beauty of the Fort Ancient landscape in early spring is phenomenal. The blooming wildflowers of every description in the midst of the amazing ancient mounds is incredible,” said Fort Ancient Site Manager Jack Blosser.
Dave Woehr is a life-long nature enthusiast trained as an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. He has been conducting tours through the human-built Fort Ancient Nature Preserve and in Ohio state, county, and city parks for many years.
Dave may also point out some of the various forms of wildlife that live in the wildflower habitats.
