Music, dance, spoken word, food and more

The Youth World House Party will present music, dance, spoken word, food and more to celebrate the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and inspire youth to create positive change in their communities.
The fifth annual event is presented by the Dayton Human Relations Council and will take place on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd., Dayton. Admission is free.
Presenters will explore contemporary issues regarding race, social justice and diversity. Youth will have the opportunity to create banners to be used during the Dayton MLK memorial march, which will occur on Jan. 15.

“We have inherited a big house, a great ‘world house’ in which we have to live together – black and white, Easterners and Westerners, Gentiles and Jews, Catholics and Protestants, Muslim and Hindu, a family unduly separated in ideas, culture, and interests who, because we can never again live without each other, must learn, somehow, in this one big world, to live with each other.”  – Martin Luther King, Jr.
