Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast

Peter Matthews, humanitarian, social entrepreneur, and pastor at McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton will present the keynote address for the 21st annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast hosted by the Centerville-Washington Diversity Council.

His topic on Monday, January 16, 2023, will be “Where Do We Go From Here? (MLK and a Pandemic of Morals)”

Peter Matthews is a much sought-after author and speaker who has presented extensively throughout the United States, India, Jamaica, England, Switzerland, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Africa over the past two decades. A recurring guest contributor to the Huffington Post, he also is the co-founder of the Global Village, a Methodist church collective of seven churches from which he secured more than $500,000 to initiate creative solutions to persistent problems in critical core urban areas.

He is the inaugural executive director of the Dayton Equity Center, and is an accomplished scholar on the topic of Martin Luther King, Jr. A graduate of Denison University, Princeton Theological Seminary and the University of Geneva (Switzerland), his thesis on King's international stature is the subject of his latest book The Global King, copies of which will be available for sale and signing at the MLK Breakfast.

The annual breakfast takes place at 7:30 am at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace. Registration starts November 1, 2022 with online registration at cwtdiversity.org. Printed registration forms that can be mailed will also be available at Centerville Library beginning November 1, 2022. Tickets are $24 each. Space is limited to accommodate safe distancing, and current COVID guidelines will be followed.
