About the Junior League of Dayton
Founded in 1920, the Junior League of Dayton, Ohio, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable, and it is open to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism.
Since its founding, JLD fundraising activities have raised nearly $2 million to fund and participate in more than 150 programs that improve our community and meet critical needs, including starting the occupational therapy program at Miami Valley Hospital, the Dayton Art Institute docent program and the YWCA Dayton’s domestic violence shelter, among many others. Additionally, JLD members are trained to further their community impact through service on community boards and coalitions. All fundraising proceeds are used exclusively to support JLD community impact programming.
