Explorations in Social Justice

The Coretta Scott King Center at Antioch College announces its inaugural social justice symposium, Explorations in Social Justice, to be held Friday, November 17, 2017 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The symposium will cover issues and topics including the intersection of faith and justice, environmental justice, Social Justice 101, liberation theology, and social justice in the curriculum.

Keynote speakers include the Rev. Traci Blackmon, Executive Minister for Justice & Witness for the United Church of Christ, and Majora Carter, leading urban revitalization strategy consultant. 

The symposium is open to the public and will be held at the Wellness Center at Antioch College, 240 East South College Street in Yellow Springs. The $50 registration includes admission to keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshop sessions (free for Antioch College and SOCHE students, $40 for alumni and Yellow Springs Residents).

About the Coretta Scott King Center
The Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom (CSKC) honors the legacy of Antioch’s renowned alumna Coretta Scott King, Class of '51. The CSKC is a community resource which  provides education, awareness, and advocacy around issues of social justice and diversity. The CSKC hosts a variety of programs which seek to educate the community about diversity, assist in advancing social responsibility, and enrich the College’s curriculum.
